Updated Financial Outlook

  • Revenue Forecast: Axon raised its full-year 2024 revenue forecast to a range between $1.94 billion and $1.99 billion. This is an increase from the previous forecast of $1.88 billion to $1.94 billion.
  • Core Profit: Adjusted core profit expectations have also been raised. The new range is between $430 million and $445 million, compared to the previous forecast of $410 million to $430 million.

Key Growth Drivers

  • Demand for Software Products and TASER 10: The updated forecast is primarily attributed to strong demand for Axon’s software products and its newly launched TASER 10, which is a non-lethal weapon used by law enforcement.

Acquisition of Dedrone

  • Axon announced its acquisition of Dedrone, a drone defense firm, which will expand its total addressable market by $14 billion. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2024, though the deal’s value has not been disclosed.

First Quarter Performance

  • Revenue Growth: Axon reported $461 million in revenue for the first quarter of 2024, representing a 34% increase compared to the previous year. This figure also exceeded analyst expectations of $441.6 million.
  • Earnings Beat: The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.15, beating the analysts’ consensus estimate of $0.94.
